For example:

  • I am thankful for all the happy moments I had growing up
  • I am thankful for my health
  • I am thankful I am going to see my friends and family this weekend

If something is bothering you, use "Even though", "But", and "Even if" to find something positive that you can feel thankful for.

Bonus: if there is a situation you don't like, identify what you can do to improve it.

For example:

  • Even though I had a fight with my friend, I know I can talk to her and work it out so that we're on better terms soon
  • Lots of people didn't like the speech I gave, but I learned that I can easily accept and handle their criticism, so it's no big deal at all
  • Even if I lose my job, I can handle it and find another one, and it might even be an opportunity to find something else that's better for me in a lot of ways
