Become Happier Without Blaming Yourself For Unhappiness

Change Your Thinking

You can achieve being happier faster and easier by changing the way you think.

For this achievement, you'll learn how to change your thinking so that you:

  • Stop believing that you have to blame yourself for being unhappy, if you don't have a disorder that prevents you from being happy
  • Start crediting yourself for what you're doing to become happier rather than blaming yourself for any unhappiness

To do this, learn why the first way of thinking doesn't help you or make sense, while the second one does, and then make choices based on what you've learned.

Stop believing that you have to blame yourself for being unhappy, if you don't have a disorder that prevents you from being happy

Here's why there's no value in this type of negative thinking:

  • Whenever you're unhappy, you are naturally compelled to blame yourself for it, due to believing that you "have to" do this, if you don't have a disorder that prevents you from being happy. So you have less happiness and enjoyment, less peace of mind, and create more miserable feelings for yourself whenever you're unhappy.
  • Since you are focused on blaming yourself, rather than focusing on what you can do to become happier, you have less energy and motivation to become happier, and therefore less success and achievement with becoming happier. So not only do you remain "stuck" with your unhappiness, but you end up blaming yourself more than ever for it, making yourself feel even worse.
  • You are naturally compelled to believe that you have a disorder that prevents you from being happy, just so that you don't "have to" blame yourself for being unhappy and feel so bad. Indeed, believing that you have a disorder and that you "can't" do anything about your situation might feel like a relief to you, since it removes the miserable blame. But it comes at a terrible cost: you weaken yourself and prevent yourself from becoming happier.

Start crediting yourself for what you're doing to become happier rather than blaming yourself for any unhappiness

Here's why there's great value in this type of positive thinking:

  • You have way more happiness and enjoyment due to crediting yourself for what you're doing to become happier rather than blaming yourself for any unhappiness. So you already feel better, and replace unhappiness with happiness much faster and easier.
  • By crediting yourself for what your'e doing to become happier, you're focusing on your positive achievements. Not only does this create greater enjoyment, but it also naturally increases your energy and motivation to become happier by recognizing the success you've already achieved. This enables you to achieve even more success faster and easier.
  • Overall, there is a huge swing in how you feel and what you achieve, once you stop blaming yourself for unhappiness and start crediting yourself for what you're doing to become happier. Instead of actively doing something that makes you feel miserable, you're actively doing something that makes you feel great... So it's like a change from -100 to a change of +100, for an overall change of +200.

Enjoy a beneficial change that makes sense

  • Just like it's neither right nor wrong to look at the glass as half full or half empty, it's neither right nor wrong to credit yourself for what you're doing to become happier, or to blame yourself for being unhappy. The difference is that crediting yourself for what you're doing to become happier is enjoyable and helps you become happier faster and easier, while blaming yourself for unhappiness does the opposite.
  • So if you want to become happier, it makes complete sense to credit yourself for what you're doing to become happier, and it doesn't make sense at all to blame yourself for being unhappy.
  • Overall, it just makes sense to become happier in a more enjoyable, energizing, blame-free way, where you don't rely on a "disorder" to keep you from blaming yourself; instead, you credit yourself for your positive actions, rather than blame yourself for your unhappiness, because you recognize that you can do it and that it's in your own best interest.
